When you write in, please include your .myshopify.com domain and the name of your theme. Almost every storefront question comes down to how a particular theme handles its cart, and those two details usually save a round trip.
Setting the app up
- Turn the drawer on. In the Shopify admin, open Online Store → Themes → Customize, go to the app embeds panel, toggle on Cart Craft Drawer and save. The app’s home page links straight to the right panel.
- Configure your incentives. In Cart drawer settings, set your free-shipping threshold, choose a free-gift product and pick your upsells. The page suggests thresholds based on your recent orders.
- Put the progress bar on your cart page. In the theme editor, open your cart template and add the Cart progress bars app block. The drawer covers shoppers who open the cart from your header; this covers the ones who go straight to the cart page.
- Test it. Add something to your cart on the storefront and watch the progress bars. Cross a threshold to see the gift added and free shipping applied at checkout.
Common questions
The drawer isn’t opening
Check that the app embed is toggled on and saved in the theme you’re actually viewing — it’s easy to enable it on a draft theme by mistake. If it’s on and the drawer still doesn’t open, your theme is probably labelling its cart button in a way we don’t yet recognise. Open your storefront with the browser console showing: where we matched nothing, the app says so and names the controls it saw.
You can point us at the right control yourself, without waiting for us. Add the attribute data-cart-suite-open to whatever element should open the drawer — the cart icon in your header, usually. We honour it whatever the theme calls the element, so <button class="header__cart" data-cart-suite-open> is enough.
Send us the theme name as well. Matching it properly on our side means the next merchant on that theme never sees the problem.
The free gift isn’t being discounted
The discount is applied by a Shopify Function, which needs the automatic discount the app creates to still exist. If you deleted it from Discounts in the admin, the app will tell you so on the settings page and switch the affected perks off. Re-enable either perk and it creates a fresh discount.
Shoppers in other currencies see the wrong threshold
Thresholds are set in your store’s base currency and converted into the shopper’s presentment currency through Shopify Markets. The same conversion runs inside the discount Function, so what a shopper is shown and what checkout applies always agree. If they don’t appear to, tell us the market and the amount you saw.
There’s no progress bar on my cart page
The drawer takes over the cart wherever a shopper clicks a cart button, but a shopper who goes straight to the cart page — from a bookmark, or a link in an email — gets your theme’s own cart page. The bar appears there once you add the Cart progress bars app block to your cart template, which the app’s home page links you straight to.
Progress bars on product pages
The same app block, on a product template, below the buy buttons — so shoppers see how close they are to free shipping before they ever open the cart.
What happens when my trial ends, or I cancel
Cart Craft switches off: shoppers see your theme’s own cart again, and the free gift and free shipping stop being applied at checkout. Nothing is written into your theme either way, so there is nothing left behind and nothing to tidy up.
Your settings are kept exactly as they were — thresholds, gift product, upsells, wording, colours. Resubscribe and everything comes back on as you had it, with nothing to set up again.
Removing the app
Uninstalling from the Shopify admin is enough. The drawer is an app embed, so nothing was ever written into your theme’s files and nothing is left behind. Your OAuth session is deleted from our database when the uninstall webhook arrives — see Privacy.
